Scrap Recovery Techniques
You'll find scrap in many different shapes and forms.
| Collect all grindings from benches and drawers. |
| Collect all spills and debris (slag) from the casting well area. |
| Collect all floor sweepings from floor areas. |
| Collect all vacuum system debris. |
| Collect all platinum foil scraps. |
| Collect grindings and sweeps from floors, especially around the casting area. |
| Scrap all remakes or crown returns. |
| Scrap all contaminated buttons and sprues. |
| Use removable carpet pieces to catch dust and grindings at the entrance and exit to finishing departments. Vacuum these carpets regularly, and when worn to the point of replacement, scrap them with the sweepings. |
| Vacuum clothing of people in the finishing department at the end of the day. And vacuum the entire work station, cleaning lights, cracks, crevices, chairs and shoes. |
| Scrap platinum muffles and thermocouples in equipment that you no longer use. |
| Use carpets to catch dust and grindings at the entrance and exit to finishing areas. |
| Return all vacuum bags/suction system bags. |
